In some ways, staying at the The Saguaro Hotel in Palm Springs was like taking a time machine to a groovier era (i.e. The 1960s… yeah Baby!). Maybe it was the eclectic colorful decor or the perpetual beats resonating from the DJ booth at the pool area. In any event, The Saguaro hotel made me wish I had a weekend leisure suit stowed away in my bag to get into full swing party mode.
I always loved the California desert. There is something serene about driving away from the city on open highway roads toward the middle of nowhere. Here in the San Gorgonio Pass, over 4,000 wind turbines generate enough electricity to satisfy the electricity demand of Palm Springs and the entire Coachella Valley. These photos are a bit dark. The sun had already sunken behind San Jacinto Peak by the time these pics were taken. Nevertheless, the last few minutes of sunset behind these windmills made for a breathtaking sight.
Wearing: WearMePro SunglassesAll Saints Leather JacketPuma ShoesLiving in perpetually sunny Southern California has turned me into a bit of a sunglasses addict. From classic aviators and wayfarers to more modern rounded shapes, I always reach for a pair of shades to complete any outfit. Also lets be honest here, after an all-night shift in the hospital some dark sunglasses provide a much needed disguise for the inevitable under-eye bags.
When I found out that WearMe Pro Eyewear offers a sunglasses subscription, I knew it was right up my alley. The SHADESBOX is a seasonal sunglasses subscription box which contains 3 pairs each, totaling 12 pairs per year. Better yet, the subscription box is tailored to your personal preferences based on style, shape, and color. In my case, I opted for a “street” style with round, square, clubmaster shapes.
Thanks to the SHADESBOX, I’ll always have a fresh pair of sunglasses to complete any look.
I remember when I bought my first suit almost ten years ago. I selected a suit intentionally two sizes too big. At the time, I had just purchased a gym membership and was sure that my body would bulk up like Arnold Schwarzenegger’s within a matter of months. Therefore, I didn’t want to take a chance on the suit becoming too small. Needless to say, my body underwent no such change and I was stuck swimming in a giant suit for all of my medical school interviews. I learned my lesson from this experience and now always buy clothes based on how my body actually is, not how I would like it to be. This jacket from Top Shop is a perfect size 36. The wine red color and one button design give it some unique flair. Perhaps a little too unique for the office setting, but definitely a fun look for after hours.
Wearing: Entreaguas Swim Trunks- (shop) Night Swim TrunkThe middle of Winter in Los Angeles is still prime season for swimming. While a wetsuit is needed to stay warm in the ocean, a nice fitting pair of swim trunks is all that is required to relax at the pool. These swim trunks by Entreaguas are my favorite trunks in my wardrobe. The silhouette is nice and slim and the colorways are truly unique, like wearable art. I’ll be rocking these well into the Summer months for sure.
