The selfie shot in front of the Hollywood Sign is the holy grail of snapshots for anyone visiting L.A. from out of town. Although you can see the sign from almost anywhere in the city, to actually get a close up shot is no easy task. In most photos, the sign ends up looking blurry and barely visible in the distant background. However, after living in this town for several years, I’ve found all the best places to get the best view of the sign. These photos were taken off of Mulholland Drive about a half mile East of Lake Hollywood Park.
If you’re planning to visit the sign, I recommend going early… like really early, the closer to dawn the better. Because it can get very crowded here and difficult to get the shot you want.
