I always loved the California desert. There is something serene about driving away from the city on open highway roads toward the middle of nowhere. Here in the San Gorgonio Pass, over 4,000 wind turbines generate enough electricity to satisfy the electricity demand of Palm Springs and the entire Coachella Valley. These photos are a bit dark. The sun had already sunken behind San Jacinto Peak by the time these pics were taken. Nevertheless, the last few minutes of sunset behind these windmills made for a breathtaking sight.
